Foodie Extravaganza- Taste of Guelph

Taste of Guelph, presented by
Linamar, is a premier gourmet garden party in support of St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph. This annual, culinary event would not be possible without the support of the community, our sponsors, and the many wonderful local chefs, restaurants, and caterers for the past 20 years.

This year’s Taste of Guelph features both new, and returning, chefs!

A past favourite at Taste of Guelph, now under new ownership, is Insomnia Trattoria and Wine Bar — Guelph’s local taste of Italy. In 1996, the original Cafe Insomnia was established as an Italian-style coffee house. Since then, it has been evolving into a full Italian Trattoria-style restaurant. This restaurant lives its philosophy that ‘Eating is a Serious Matter’, and along with their excellent food, they have a wonderful selection of wines and desserts. The combination of the atmosphere and live weekend entertainment is what keeps people coming back.

Robusta Café & Lounge is a true Guelphite’s café. Robusta is very proud of their roots and their personal connection to the city of Guelph because their entire team’s families, friends, and futures have all started here. With their delicious food, specialty drinks, and wine list, they are the one-stop café for your morning pick-me-up, your first date destination, or your night out with friends. Come for the great food and stay for the live music and entertainment.

Chef Darryl Fletcher (ChefD) began his career in his hometown Kitchener, where he was inspired to learn how to cook and experiment with new, exciting flavours. Now, ChefD has become a well-known chef all over North America. On Rogers TV, ChefD’s fifth season of his popular cooking show, ‘At Home with ChefD’ brings him into your kitchen to help inspire your dishes. His two cookbooks, Maple Madness, and Garlic Madness share with you his favourite recipes and teach you many useful tips and tricks.

Foodies Anonymous is a young and professional catering company that is constantly thinking outside the box. These young chefs are creative, unique, and pride themselves on creating an experience that you and your guests will never forget. They challenge themselves to create more than the standard and expected. They were the sole caterer for the Pan Am Games (all 14,000 athletes, officials, volunteers, and spectators), and have catered over 150 magnificent weddings. They strive for perfection and you can taste the passion in their food.

Crafty Ramen is the perfect blend of traditional Japanese cuisine with Canadian ingredients. Miki and Jared, the owners and chefs of Crafty Ramen, attended the Yamato Ramen School in Japan to become experts of the culinary craft and now work every day to continually better their product as well as provide a memorable experience for you. Crafty Ramen works very hard to create ramen dishes that respect the tradition of the noodle, while innovating and modernizing the techniques used to cook these dishes. All the pork, chicken, and vegetables are bought locally in Guelph, and the wheat (used in the noodle) is grown in Canada.

Longos is coming to Guelph! Longos will soon add one of its 30 full-service grocery stores to the South end of Guelph. Longos is known for providing the ‘best fresh food experience possible’. Since 1956, this family-owned grocer has provided its customers with excellent service and a large selection of fresh food. Longos’ in-store kitchen prepares fresh hot and cold meals, made every day by their chefs, using high-quality ingredients. These meals are a healthy alternative for families on the go and are a great option to grab for lunch on your way to work.
